U20 Thrashers Win 2014 Hub Cup!

The New England Thrashers U20 team entered the 2014 Hub Cup looking for revenge from last season, when they finished first in the round robin, but lost in the semi-finals. This year, the Thrashers entered the playoffs as the 8 seed and made it all the way to the championship.

In the round robin, the Thrashers played the NY Applecore (Green) and beat the 7-4 and the Maine Wild 10-4. The team lost a close game to the A/P Selects 3-1.

In the playoffs, the Thrashers had to play the top seed East Coast Militia. The Thrashers got out to quick 4-0 start and never looked back and beat them 7-4 with goals from Zuccarini(2), Fitzpatrick(2), Kelly, Manchuck, and Quirk. In the semi-finals the Thrashers had to now play the second seed Boston Generals (Green). The Thrashers battled back twice and beat the Generals 4-2, with goals from Fitzpatrick(2), Zuccarini, and N. Pezza.. In the championship game, the Thrashers had to face off against the Lovell Knights, the same team who knocked the Thrashers out of the playoffs last year. The team got down once again, but battled back to beat the Lovell Knights 3-1 to go on to win the 2014 Hub Cup, with goals from Fitzpatrick, Pezza, and Quirk.

Jarrod Fitzpatrick was named the Bauer Playoff MVP with a playoff stat line of 5-2-6 in three playoff games.
